In October 2020 we were awarded £21,120 by  the National Lottery Heritage Fund to support recovery from the impact of Covid-19. The funding window is tight – cash must be spent before 31 March 2021 but we are proving adept at spending for maximum effect.

Garden Manager

We appointed Martha Everett on a four month contract for 15 hours a week.

Social Media Coordinator

Demi-Louise Brookes took on this role on a three month contract.

Financial Strategy Consultancy

Simon Robinson

We also secured funding for two skips for removal of general waste; for a contribution to legal fees and disbursements associated with a long-term( (25 years initially with potential for extension when funding and permission are in place for work on restoration of the old stone stores and workshops); and a video highlighting our place in the heart of Buxton.

We have been invited to apply for a second round of funding – to a limit of 50% of the first award. Our bid for £10,560 covers sustained support with garden management and social media, a sturdy wooden shed for tool and equipment storage, and specialist input for social prescribing. Decisions will be made before the end of March – and awards must be spent in the three months April – June 2021.
