A lovely day for gardening!

We and the plants made the most of a beautiful Spring Day. Inside, the broad beans have been germinating (looks like 31 out of 36 sown) as has the New Zealand Spinach. Outside we have a row of radishes in one of the planters. So Gil finished off Monday’s sowing list with beetroot Devoy and Radish Giant Red outside.
We potted up five varieties of tomatoes in to individual pots and also 24 borage seedlings, both to be shared between Serpentine and Detached. We also pricked out the two varieties of lettuce – Lollo Rossa and Fristina. Both varieties are ones where individual leaves can be harvested, rather than the whole plant, so they crop over a long period. There were some left over seedlings. These we will let grow on for a bit longer then trim them to use as a micro salad – ideal for adding to a sandwich or a mouthful on the side.
