Testing the pH levels of soil

To maximize the growth of your garden plants and crops, try testing the pH levels of your soil. In the UK this ranges from 3.5 (strongly acidic) to 8.5 (strongly alkaline), with 7 being neutral. Most fruit and veg prefer soils that have a neutral to slightly acidic pH.
